We are pleased to announce that Egenera®, a brand new Asigra partner, is launching Xterity™ Essential Backup-as-a-Service (E-BaaS) using Asigra Cloud Backup™ technology.
Egenera is a US-based datacenter company with a global footprint, providing wholesale services to cloud service providers (CSPs). E-BaaS will be the latest addition to Egenera’s lineup of Xterity business continuity cloud services that CSPs can white label and resell to their own customers. Beyond the technology, CSPs also benefit from a complete suite of business management tools, including apps to streamline sales, billing and support.
When Egenera first conceived E-BaaS, there was a gap in their disaster recovery offerings for SMEs. Their existing, fully managed Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution was aimed towards the mid-market and enterprises, who need 24/7 monitoring by Egenera staff.
E-BaaS will come in at a much lower price point, designed for SME end users who have relatively simple backup needs protecting desktops and servers. The service will automatically transfer daily backups to Egenera’s cloud, with a default retention length of 30 days.
Egenera is confident that backup will be an excellent entry-point for CSPs looking to win new cloud services customers. Smaller organizations, particularly those without internal IT departments, are often concerned about their ability to protect data internally. Many are looking to replace legacy backup systems, such as tape.
E-BaaS is designed specifically to help CSPs reach this audience. Once CSPs have earned the trust of their new cloud services customers, they can easily upsell and cross-sell complementary services to increase their monthly recurring revenue (MRR).
Asigra is excited by Egenera’s decision to standardize their solution on our software. We look forward to furthering our partnership with Egenera in the coming years to make enterprise-grade data protection accessible to organizations of all sizes.
